Ordering your genres
Your genre order is the engine's starting point. How it works and how to set it well.
On Preferences, drag your genres into order, favourites at the top. Movies and TV shows have separate lists.
What it does
Your order tells the engine what you say you like. Genres near the top carry more weight, and the colour of each row shows how much. Press Save Movie Genre Order after reordering.
From there, the engine also watches what you actually like through your ratings, and gradually adjusts. So your order is a strong starting point, not a cage.
Setting it well
- Put the genres you'd happily watch any night at the top.
- Push genres you rarely enjoy right to the bottom. That keeps them from crowding your matches.
- Don't agonise over the middle. The engine sorts that out from your ratings.
